Friday Outfit

I wouldn't say I'm a hardcore fashion addict. I know several, so I have someone to compare myself to. I couldn't 'name that designer' or reel off the last 5 cover girls of Vogue like I'm sure they could. I'm more of a fashion fan. I love shopping. I love discovering shops or websites no-one else knows about. I dress for me - what fits, what colours suit me, and what I'm comfortable in. I'm not saying I never dabble in trends, but I would describe my own style as very classic, pretty basic and low budget, jazzed up with accessories.

It's always been like that. My mum's not a fashion fan, and thinks it's stupid to spend a ton of money on clothes that will be out of style in a few months, or can be found much cheaper elsewhere. And I'm the same really. That's not to say I'm not tempted when I have a flick through Grazia or have a look on ASOS.com. I just know that [most of the time] it's not worth the money. When you've lived on a clothes budget most of your life, you learn to compromise.

Today's outfit was a prime example.

[Excuse the shoddy camera work. I'm in desperate need of a new camera.]
white shirt and black brocade skirt - Matalan, patent belt - New Look, leggings - Tesco
Maybe I'm not the most fashionable gal in school, but I'm happy and comfortable with my style. Although my wardrobe is in dire need of a clearout and new basics. I'm looking for a job as soon as I take my driving theory test next Saturday.
I ended up caving in and buying the Gossip Girl first series. Half price was just too tempting. I also bought the black and gold brocade skirt I featured a few posts ago, as well as a navy, long boyfriend cardigan, FINALLY! I love it, it's so cosy. But the skirt's too big, which is a shame because it's gorgeous. I'm going to take it into town and see if they have a size 8. I haven't been a size 8 in a while. I lost a bunch of weight over the holidays from just eating dinner and drinking about 8 cups of tea a day.
While I'm on the topic of purchases, my package arrived from My Vintage Charms!
For a grand total of like 6 quid [including p&p] I was impressed. I wore my fish today and got a bunch of compliments. Although I did have to go without my scarf, since it's quite delicate, and ended up half-frozen. Clever.

I've started listening to All American Rejects again. It's not a good sign. First the glitter eyeliner... now this?

I think I'm regressing.

xo

PS. I am in love with the film Little Miss Sunshine. It's my new favourite ever ever. I love Dwayne to bits; me and mum almost cried when he found out he... well, I won't say in case anyone's not seen it :)

Thanks for the sweet comment. I love Galibardy jewellery, I featured her stuff on the blog sometime before Christmas I think. I want practically every piece!
